Jam is a food that’s made from fruit preserves. It can be made from just about any fruit you can think of, and is an easy to use form that goes well with loads of different meals and foods.
So, can rabbits eat jam and is it safe for them to do so? Unfortunately not. Jams typically have sugars and preservatives added to them. Rabbits shouldn’t be eating sugary foods as it causes them some serious stomach issues.
Rabbits diets include lots of hay for their fibre intake, some pellets for nutritional intake, and some fresh vegetables daily for other vitamins and minerals. Sugary foods can be given in small amounts as treats once or so a week, but I don’t recommend it personally.
Rabbits are much happier having different vegetables to keep therm interested and add some variation to their diets. Include a few edible flowers or herbs to mix things up a little. It’s up to you to make sure your rabbits are eating a healthy diet.
