Can Rabbits Eat Hamster Food

If you have hamsters as well as rabbits you are probably wondering, can rabbits eat hamster food and not get sick? I am assuming you are not feeding them hamster food on purpose, because there is no reason to do that. Hamsters and rabbits are very different and have different nutritional needs and requirements.

If you have an indoor bunny however it’s understandable they might come across some hamster food, so if that happens don’t worry if they have a little nibble. You should be house proofing your home however, so there is nothing that will harm your bunny. Or more importantly, there is nothing they will chew on or eat that you value!

A healthy rabbit relies on eating a lot of fiber in their diet to keep their digestive system healthy. They get most of their fiber from Timothy hay, as well as eating bunny pellets and some fresh vegetables to vary their diet and provide a good range of nutrition.

Keep fresh water out at all times too, follow these basic steps and you’ll have a healthy and happy bunny. Keep the hamster food for your hamster, and anything else they may eat out of reach.
