Can Rabbits Eat Green Apples

Can Rabbits Eat Green Apples

There are various types of apple and a lot of them are green. The Granny Smith is probably the most commonly known green apple and is a delicious fruit that I’m sure most of us reading this has eaten, or do eat regularly.

It seem like a normal type of food to give to rabbits to eat doesn’t it? But, can rabbits eat green apples just as they can other types of apple and not get sick from them?

Yes, sure they can. But when feeding your bunny apple of any kind you need to carefully remove the core and all the seeds. The seeds can be very toxic and cause some serious health issues and must be avoided. Slice up the rest of the apple in to smaller pieces and feed it them this way.

Rabbits need to eat plenty of good quality Timothy Hay, pellets, and fresh water. All other foods and treats need to be given in moderation. This gives them the fiber they need and a good range of vitamins and minerals. It’s always tempting to give your rabbit’s scraps and treats, but only do so on occasions.
