Rabbits do enjoy fruits of all kinds and will usually eat any that you put in their hutch. But how often can rabbits eat fruit and in what quantities? Once a week or so and in small quantities is the answer to this. A few slices of apple, or some pieces of dried banana are fine for example.
Rabbits require plenty of Timothy hay in their diet. This hay, or other forms of quality hay provides a high amount of fiber which is important to a rabbit’s digestive system. Pellets formulated for rabbits provide a lot of the other nutrition they need, and you should be providing some leafy greens each day.
Fruit is always a treat for bunnies. The high amounts of sugar is not good for them at all, although they do have a sweet tooth and enjoy eating it. There’s nothing wrong with throwing a few pieces in now and then, and of course it’s nice to treat our pets.
