There are lots of different fruits and they all have different amounts of sugars, vitamins, and other properties. As a general rule you can feed your rabbits small amounts of dried fruits as treats, but only once week or so.
This is because dried fruits are typically high in sugar which can cause rabbits some serious digestive problems, they don’t handle sugar like we do.
A rabbit’s diet is made up from Timothy hay, which provides them with a lot of fiber which is important for their digestion. Formulated pellets, which are important for vitamins and all-round nutrition, and fresh water to keep them hydrated. Dried fruits are treats when you want to spoil them a little, so keep them to a minimum.
The best fruits to give them (in small amounts!) are mango, peach, apple, pineapple, berries, and apricots. Your rabbits will gobble these up in a hurry, but no matter how cute they look at you don’t give in and give them more. It’s for their best interest!
