You probably have dandelions in your garden somewhere. Which means that if your rabbits run around freely or have a large rabbit run to exercise in, they may find them. The good news is that dandelions are not harmful to bunnies and they can happily eat them if they want. But can they eat dandelion leaves?
Sure, these aren’t any different to the actual flower of the plant, or the stem.
My rabbits enjoy having a nibble on these little flowers so I assume they are quite tasty. Just make sure that you haven’t sprayed any chemicals on or around the area of anything your rabbits are nibbling on.
Make sure you keep the supply of Timothy hay flowing for your rabbits to eat in their hutch. Also, fresh water and pellets are the best way to keep a well-rounded diet. They like some leafy greens and vegetables daily too, this gives them some variation and a wider range of vitamins and nutrition. Keep those treats to a minimum.
