There are lots of different types of apples. They are nutritious and tasty fruits and I’m sure you enjoy an apple from time-to-time just like I do.
It seems like a natural food to give to bunnies as most animals eat apples. But, can rabbits eat apples?
Yes, they can. But there are two parts to the apple to separate. The main part of the apple, and the seeds. Bunnies cannot eat apple seeds, they are potentially toxic to them and can cause digestive issues. So slice up the apple and avoid giving them any part from the middle, or use an apple corer to remove the core of the apple that contains the seeds.
Please remember that a healthy bunny needs a healthy, balanced diet. This means plenty of good quality Timothy Hay, pellets, and fresh water. All other foods and treats need to be given in moderation. This will ensure digestive issues are kept to a minimum, which rabbits are known to have when eating different foods.
It’s important you put their health first as part of being a responsible bunny owner. It’s always tempting, but only give your rabbits treats on occasions.
