Jello, Jell-O, or jelly as it’s also called, is a powder that is quickly and easily prepared by dissolving it in water and leaving it to set. It’s a fun dessert for children to make as it’s easy and sweet to eat. But, can rabbits eat jello or jelly?
Absolutely not. Jell-O contains a lot of additives, e-numbers, gelatin, flavourings, sweeteners, and all the things that are not good for rabbits to eat. It’s not terribly healthy for humans either, but it’s not going to do us any harm in small amounts.
I suggest you keep your rabbits on the foods they need to stay healthy. This means a constant supply of hay, some pellets, and some vegetables each day. Rabbits can’t tolerate sugars and additives that are put in our foods to sweeten them up.
Your rabbits will be sick if they eat jell-o, keep it to yourself.
