Jalapenos are spicy chillies. They are within the 1,000 – 2,000 range on Scoville scale. This makes them pretty hot if you’re not used to eating spicy things. A lot of people wonder, can rabbits eat jalapenos and will it taste hot to them too?
You’re right in thinking that some animals will eat jalapenos and other chillies. But rabbits will not, they are far too hot and their taste buds are well aware of spicy things like chillies and they will not appreciate it at all. So your curiosity stops here, don’t put chillies anywhere near your bunnies!
Stick to what rabbits want and need. That’s a constant supply of hay to provide the fibre and roughage they need to keep their digestive system operating smoothly. As well as pellets, vegetables, and fresh water.
Domestic rabbits are curious animals, and not the best judge of what they should or shouldn’t be eating. So do you part as a responsible owner and make sure they are getting all the good stuff they need. Keep the treats to a minimum and don’t experiment with foods you’re not sure about.
